🍌 Bananasplit — Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 29, 2026
Bananasplit is a trip expense-splitting app. This policy explains what data the app handles and why. Short version: your data is used to run the app for you and your trip members — nothing else. No ads, no analytics trackers, no selling of data.
What we store
- Account: your email address, display name and optional profile photo.
- Trip content: trips, expenses, items, balances and settlements you and your trip members create, plus optional trip cover photos and receipt photos you upload.
- Push token: if you enable notifications, a device token used solely to notify you about activity in your trips.
- Purchases: if you buy the one-time unlock, the Apple transaction identifier used to verify the purchase with Apple. We never see your payment details.
Receipt scanning
When you scan a receipt, its text (read on your device) or photo is sent to Anthropic's API to extract the line items, then discarded from that service. Per Anthropic's API terms, this data is not used to train AI models.
Where it lives
Data is stored with Supabase, our hosting provider, and is only visible to you and the members of your trips. We don't share it with anyone else, except as required to operate the services above or by law.
Your rights
You can delete your account (and the data tied to it) anytime in the app under Profile → Delete account. For access, correction or deletion requests, or any questions, email niklastomkowitz@gmail.com.
